The Sheep at CreekWind Farm
We started out with a mixed flock of Shetland x Cheviot crosses and some Katahdin x Dorper crosses. After a year, we sold the hair sheep and decided to concentrate on wool breeds. The sheep are used for training our dogs to herd, but also for selling their wool and to have grass-fed lamb for your table.
Julie decided she liked the Navajo-Churro breed due to it's hardiness and the fact that it's an American Heritage breed. So 5 Navajo-Churros joined the flock in the fall of 2016. Rocko the ram and his girls: Arriba, Sancia, Qiana, and Mahalia came from Bide-A-Wee farm in Oregon. In 2017, Arriba gave birth to a black badgerface ram lamb, Taco, and Qiana gave us a lovely black ewe lamb, Octavia.
We also had some purebred Shetlands and Shetland-Cheviot cross ewes who produced some lambs with just awesome fleeces! We can't wait to see how they mature.
